Femina Creativa:Celebrating Women in New York

Join us in honoring the legacies of the past and the artistic visions of the present. ‘Femina Creativa: Celebrating Women in New York’ is a testament to the impact of women in the arts and a celebration of their ongoing influence in shaping the world of contemporary art.

The Garage Art Center and Queens College Art Center proudly presents ‘Femina Creativa: Celebrating Women in New York.’ The Latin phrase ‘Femina Creativa,’ translating to ‘Creative Woman’ in English, graces the title of this group show, intending to convey a classical and artistic sense of creativity and empowerment.

This extraordinary exhibition brings together 23 actively working female artists from the vibrant and diverse New York City metro area. Through a rich tapestry of mediums, these artists showcase their exceptional techniques and unwavering dedication to the art world, collectively illuminating the essence of Women’s History Month.

‘Femina Creativa’ not only celebrates the incredible contributions of these artists but also pays tribute to the countless women throughout history who have made remarkable strides in the face of adversity. In a world that has often underestimated and overlooked women’s voices, this exhibition serves as a testament to the strength, resilience, and boundless creativity of female artists.

Each of the 23 artists featured in this exhibition possesses a unique and powerful artistic voice, honed over long and illustrious careers. Their works span a wide spectrum of mediums, including painting, sculpture, and beyond. As we navigate the complexities of our modern world, these artists continue to create, inspire, and challenge our perceptions, proving that art is not bound by gender or time.

‘Femina Creativa’ invites you to explore the diverse stories, experiences, and perspectives of these talented women artists. Their works serve as a testament to the enduring power of creativity, innovation, and the indomitable spirit of women. Through this celebration of art and Women’s History Month, we hope to inspire future generations and foster a deeper appreciation for the invaluable contributions of women in the arts and society at large.
